I just wish they were hardy here ... when I've visited (for work, alas) Arizona, I was amazed at how big they get there, virtual shrubs! I'm envious they're hardy there, but I'm sticking with Iowa for good, after having moved around all over the place over the years.

I hope your work lets up a bit soon, but I understand... I've not been able to post as much as I wanted for the last month or so due to my crazy-busy workload too! Hang in there!Iowa Victory Gardenerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07220818462081082930noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5079281006825800834.post-32266625174362551772008-10-12T17:12:00.000-06:002008-10-12T17:12:00.000-06:00Sue, send some of those butterflies my way! :)Sue, send some of those butterflies my way! :)Iowa Gardening Womanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13457574109288160557noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5079281006825800834.post-44620311726413756762008-10-11T22:46:00.000-06:002008-10-11T22:46:00.000-06:00I need to correct myself! Maybe I should bring my yellow potted one to the front yard where most of the butterflies are, and see if it gets any visitors.Corner Gardener Suehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10631500918579405664noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5079281006825800834.post-31971592309402049262008-10-11T05:55:00.000-06:002008-10-11T05:55:00.000-06:00Have a great weekend Jen!Have a great weekend Jen!Sallyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02202463147917151854noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5079281006825800834.post-15274271387780513052008-10-10T22:10:00.000-06:002008-10-10T22:10:00.000-06:00I saw a black swallowtail feeding on a yellow lant...I saw a black swallowtail feeding on a yellow lantana in a pot one day. The ones I have in the ground, I've only seen butterflies stop for a brief moment, then go on to the tall purple verbenas, white marigolds, butterfly bush, and now asters and goldenrods. I wonder if more of the butterflies in the south go for the lantanas, since they are perennials in those zones.Corner Gardener Suehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10631500918579405664noreply@blogger.com
