Sunday Bloomy Sunday Two

Lilies are probably my favorite flower, my Asiatics are starting to bloom now, my favorites are the Orientals of course, because they are fragrant. From 1997 until a year or so ago, I hosted a chat on AOL, in the Potting Shed, my screen names was Host Home Lily, I really enjoyed that and kept AOL for years after I had cable access.

Sunday Rosey Sunday

I also have a several seven sister rose bushes in bloom, I have taken to digging them up, they can take over everything and have the worse thorny canes, 2 old rose bushes are still blooming but in the last stages, and a pink grootendorst is in bloom, it is really strange half the bush blooms red and the other half pink, not quite sure how that happened.

Sunday Bloomy Sunday

I am posting my blooms a bit early, I am going to be out of town tomorrow, but will be home in time to browse all the other blogs. I am going to start with some of my day lilies which are just getting started, as I posting this I noticed I forgot to take a picture of one of my favorite daylilies, it has tall stems, beautiful yellow blooms and is fragrant. My daylilies are just getting started. The first 3 look like they might be the same plant but they aren't.

Rhythm of the Rain and Prickly Pear Cactus

Well, the rain has finally stopped but it is a clammy damp day, the kind of day that brings out all the bugs, we got chewed up by mosquitoes this AM walking the dogs, I found 3 ticks on one of the dogs, which grossed me out and sent us running to the vet for Frontline. Not a good day to be working outside but I am heading out to fertilize my roses and annuals. I have lots of Iris that need to be dug but not sure if that will happen today or not.

I took these photos of the prickly pear cactus last week.

Scrapbook Project & TGIF

Friday is finally here, yeah! I have a list of things I want to do outside tomorrow and I am looking forward to each and everyone of them. I have not been online much the past 3 nights because of storms, it is raining again right now, our rain total is 1.9 inches so far, we needed the rain badly, places just south of us have received from 4-6 inches of rain. I am a bit gun shy with lightning and my computer having fried a computer due to lightning several years ago. For that reason I am going to share an old project I made last summer that happens to be on this computer, I am using my laptop and all my current photos are on my desktop. I took the photo last summer, it is the same rose bush that I have shared pictures of this summer.

Pass A Long Plants and Garden Helpers

I wore the pups out again! They just can not seem to last the day.

The pretty little pink flower was given to me as seeds several years ago, the lady that gave them to me said they were miniature hollyhocks, the correct name is lavertera but to me they are still miniature hollyhocks.

The weather was absolutely beautiful today, 70s, low humidity, sunshine, stunning blue skies, and I was stuck at work! Today is my youngest grandsons 5th birthday, I am glad he has such a perfect day to celebrate. We received almost 4 tenths of rain last evening, I wish it had been more but it is better than nothing.

Pretty Tea Roses

The first thing I did this AM was go outside to see if the Cecropia Moth was still around, it wasn't. I kept my eyes open for it all day but did not see it again.

My tea roses are starting to bloom and of course every bug in the entire state is snacking on the beautiful blooms.
