Pretty Lilies

Lilies are my favorite flower, if one can have a favorite that is. I am already browsing fall catalogs for more bulbs. It is getting hot again and we could use some rain, there is some in the forecast for tomorrow, I am hoping the weatherman is correct, what are the odds of that happening? :)

Tag You're It

While reading blogs tonight I came upon a Tag You're It on Carol's blog to post seven random things about myself. While mine will not be as interesting as Carol's or as long........lol.

1) Not many people know about my blog either. Not my coworkers, even though I consider most of them friends, we have all worked together for almost 20 years.

2) I hate sports, everyone in my family loves sports, I would rather watch grass grow.

3) There are a lot of weeds in my garden.

4)I wish I had went to college and been a librarian.

5) James Michner is my favorite author.

6) No mid life crisis here, my goal is to get old enough to retire.

7) I have two grandsons, perfect ones of course. :)

And to make this a little bit interesting I am going to post a picture as well.

Datura Blooms That Never Had a Chance

My Datura plant had several buds on it before we got the heavy rains last week, the rain bent the flowers over so they were not standing up like they are suppose to, right now I have several more ready to open, if heavy rain is forecast I am going to put the pot in the garage. This is how the flowers looked after the rain. The first photo was taken before the rains, the bloom was still upright but not completely open.

Hens and Chicks And Strange Buds

Hens and Chicks are one of my favorite plant families, this one is just too cute.

The photo of the buds is on a plant that I have had in my garden for several years, I have never noticed how strange they were, or if this year they are doing something weird. These are delphinium buds, is this how they are supposed to look and I have never noticed it before?

Busy Bee

The heat we have had for the past 3 days has not slowed down this busy little bee. I like the way the sun and shadows play in this photo.
