Sunday Rainy Sunday

Everyone have their Arks built???? We have over 3 inches in our rain gauge right now, that is since I went to bed last night, after the over 4 inches we had last week and the forecast is for more rain all week long, this is starting to look like 1993.
I had lots of plans for things I wanted to do today but I doubt that will happen. Yesterday I went to a garden craft sale at a local arboretum. It was fun, I don't feel too bad about my weeds any longer as I saw weeds 5 feet tall on their grounds. :). I bought a Sweet Autumn Clematis from a local perennial grower. It was in a large pot that weighed about 20 pounds so it was a long trip back to the car and I think it was a 20 mile walk uphill both ways. I wanted to buy a few herbs but had enough carrying the clematis. There was a vendor there selling the concrete leaves, I have always wanted to try doing that but have not had the time. She was also selling lots of garden word art stones, which I have made, but hers had a beautiful greenish/black patina on them, I am going to experiment to try to get that look. Maybe some day I will have time to do the concrete leaves.

After heat we had lots of rain last week and more is supposed to come next week. Some people in norther Bavaria already had flooded basements. I hope it won't be quite as bad in my part of Bavaria. Love your pics. Only white Allium is blooming now in my garden. Stop by! Been missing you. Andrea

Hi IGW! I was thinking about you the past few nights as I saw the same nasty weather we had heading over your way. Hopefully it's going to dry out here over the next few days after the destructive rains of Thurs, Fri and Today ... our basement flooded for the first time in 10 yrs and we sustained some major damage that's going to require the rental of a dumpster to dispose of ... At least the peonies are blooming and we cut tons of them (before they got beaten down) and brought them inside. So at least the house smells lovely now! :-)

I got one stinking peony bloom. I may have to ice them some in late winter to get more production.. They sure are beautiful and I love your new garden helper...

You have such lovely flowers. I love the irises, clematis and dianthus! Here in the Illinois Quad Cities, we've had tons of rain too. In fact, the rivers around here are going thru a second flood stage!

IGW, just stopping by to see if things are as bad over your way as I've been hearing/reading. I hope you and yours and especially the pups are doing OK!

The one thing that comes from lots of rain - beautiful flowers and a lush garden. Beautiful shots.

Beautiful blooms who are definitely appreciating the rain you have been having. I think we have just got to learn to accept weeds, I will never be able to eradicate them all in my garden. This morning I have cleared three sack fulls of brambles already! x
