Nice photos. Don't know if I've ever seen them in person either. Have enjoyed watching a Robin in a tug of war with a string I have tied around a shrub. Cher Goldenray Yorkies
We get swallows in small groups, but never in huge flocks like this. How lucky that you were there to capture it all. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Great capture of these lovely birds. I have them here, they nest in my bird houses. I also have purple finches such as you have on your blog header, they are right outside my window now eating sunflower seeds. Always fun to stop in here to view your offerings. Thanks for sharing.
I think the swallows had just arrived from the south and so many of them were in a small area on the ground, so there must have been something there they really needed after their long flight, it was a sandy rocky area, so not sure what they were eating.

I usually only see large numbers when they are getting ready to leave us in the autumn.

I have never seen so many swallows in one place before!
Nice flock of swallows but not near the trees. Have they just arrived from migration?
Looks like you are being invaded. Nice shots.

We seldom see them on the ground but in the evenings here in the late spring they dive for bugs, which I love to watch!
