Cecropia Moth

We found a Cecropia Moth at work this morning, I got to hold it (very gently) and my boss took some pictures, it was absolutely beautiful! What a thrill it was to see and hold it and then watch it fly away. Had it been later in the day I would have brought it home to my garden but I was worried it would not last the day sitting on my desk so I released it.

How pretty! Like an exotic flower.

That thing is huge! And it does look like an exotic flower. All I've seen recently are "miller" moths, not very exciting.

Thanks for your comment on my "sleeping woman", I think she'd like your blue M&M stepping stone. I certainly do!

That is a beautiful moth. I've never seen one of those before. Glad you had a camera to get those great shots.

How exciting was that? It is so very beautiful. I've not seen one before. I am visiting for Bloom Day. I photographed a wonderful butterfly last week and posted it on my blog, but it doesn't compare to your beauty!
