Clematis and Roses

Last May I purchased a Clematis and interplanted it with my rose bush Linda Campbell, I had read that they made good campanions, I really sort of forgot about it and did not expect the Clematis to bloom this year, but look what I discovered this week! Now I am hoping for lots of blooms from the clematis next spring, it is indeed clinging to and climbing the rose canes.

Beautiful clematis! I've thought about doing the clematis and roses together - but haven't tried it yet.

Very pretty! I did the same with a once-blooming white rose in the backyard. The rose blooms are long gone, but NOW the clematis are showing their pretty heads. Guess I'll never see the two together. Yours look great!

What is the name of your beautiful
Clematis? I am hoping to get a blue/lavender one for next year.

The colors are wonderful. When I look at the photos, I see more lavendar than blue. Clematis won't grow here in Arizona, otherwise, I'd have several.

I have plunked down quite a bit of money this year on clematis, and I thought that I had enough. Now you have me thinking about new and more wonderful uses for them.
