My Surprise Lilies are in Bloom!

I am tickled pink to say that my Surprise Lily AKA Naked Ladies, Magic Lily, Resurrection Lily (Lycoris squamigera) are blooming, they were up about a foot last April when we got the long spell of freezing temps, I was worried that they may not bloom. They are one of favorite plants, also one of my oldest plants.

Mine are blooming, too! Though, I tend to call them Resurrection Lilies. I posted about mine today, too.

Great gardens bloom alike, eh?

Those are a lovely shade of pink!...how long do they bloom?

Connie, not very long, a week or so, the interesting thing about them is they are one of the first things to pop up in the spring, then the leaves die down, the flowers grow straight up out of the ground in late July or early August without any leaves.

I was going to ask how they got their name - but you just answered that! Very pretty.

Very beautiful lilies. I always thought we should buy some and after seeing yours we'll definitely get some.
