Mellow Yellow

The weather is beautiful, sunny, and cool, absolutely perfect except for the blood thirsty mosquitoes. I am hoping for a nice Sunday so I can dig some peonies and finish up dividing my iris, it may be a bit late for the iris but I think they will do OK.

Pretty yellows.
Irises are a hardy lot. I think I divided mine too early as the hot weather really dried them out, but I am sure they will revive with the cool fall rains.

Definitely not too late to divide irises. I like your photos. I used to not like yellow, but then I realized it was the golden-orange I didn't like. The pure yellows, like yours, are great for adding a bit of zip to my otherwise too-purple plantings.

This time of year is so lovely for those bursts of yellow appearing and brightening up our gardens.

Lovely yellow! Pay no mind to when you can divide your irises. I would divide them anytime of year, and they always did fine. Just don't plant them near walnut or pine nut trees. They will survive, but not bloom. You probably already know that, though. Happy gardening!! :)

Hi Jenny,
I lost your email address, but know you will get this this way! Wanted to let you know that I got the candle yesterday and have been enjoying it ever since. The glitter on top is a wonderful touch! It really sparkles when the candle is lit. The scent is perfect, just the right mix of apple and cinnamon.
Thank you so much for trading with me. I sent you a sampler of embroidery threads yesterday; just enough to try a few different sizes and colors. I meant to include them with the block and fabric, just got excited and mailed it too quickly!

I finally am catching up on your posts - what a slug I've been!!!
All of your photos are so beautiful - as usual. My favorites are the roses - yours are lovely. Reiman gardens looks like a totally cool place to visit. Are you feeling fall in the air like we are? I hope we'll still have some nice days yet - I have a lot of plans for the garden this fall!

That's the problem with beautiful sunny weather-it is enjoyed by all life forms alike, including the blood-thirsty mosquitoes!
Flowers look very beautiful and 'happy' in the pictures.

We have had three great days for the weekend which was a welcome relief after all the rain these past two weeks. I love the yellows. Greetings, Andrea
