More of the Big Bee

Posted by Picasa
I am sharing a couple more pictures of the large bee that was in my garden this weekend, you can see it next to a normal size bee, I have never seen one this large, so am not sure what exactly it is.

Maybe it is a carpenter bee? They are quite large and look harmless. Actually they don't usually sting at all. It is a lovely capture of the two for sure and sure shows the size comparison.

You can certainly tell the difference in size between those two bees. I said it before and I will say it again that is one BIG bee!

Not a carpenter bee -- they have shiny black abdomens. That bee is indeed huge! Like Tina said, the biggest bees I've seen on my place are carpenter bees -- the fuzzy bees are all small.

Hopefully it's not a wayward "killer bee", they are surposed to be big.
