That's the first bottle tree I have ever seen. There is a nice blue sky in the background. It has been a while since our sky was blue.

Linda, bottle trees are a southern thing, the 1st one I saw was in the movie of Ray Charles' life, they are suppose to catch and trap evil spirits before they can enter your home, I liked the thought :). My son calls it white trash yard art :).

Oh, no! Not white trash yard art! That may be the only thing saving your son from evil spirits.

Bottle trees are magical. Daddy made one years ago out of a cedar that had fallen. It is a magical idea, it may even work.

That's interesting about seeing the bottle tree in the Ray Charles movie. Your photo is stunning with the colors against the snow and the brilliant sky. Have a great weekend.

From South African culture. They believed if you hung colorful bottles outside your home evil spirits would seek refuge in them (instead of your house). When the sun rose in the morning they would not be able to find their way out and burn up in the sun.

I love the colors. It is all brown here.

I love the colors of your bottles! Someone has a list of bloggers who have bottle trees in their sidebar. It may be Tina, of In the Garden. Is yours on the list?
