Christmas Cactus

Posted by Picasa

My old fashioned Christmas Cactus is putting on another show.  It must be especially happy this year.

I had my grandsons this past weekend so did not have a chance to participate in Camera Critter Saturday but will be back next Saturday.  Had a great time with the boys!

We missed a snow storm yesterday, we have almost 40 inches of snow on the ground, I'm getting very winter weary.  We are starting to worry about flooding this spring, after the flood of 2008 we are still very nervous.

Beautiful Christmas cactus. I am very happy you missed the latest snow storm. Here in GA, it was 67 here on Sunday. I was able to prune my roses. We have been known to have snow in April, so I know it is subject to change in a hurry.

40" OF SNOW? OMGosh! That's crazy! We don't see that kind of snow in two decades... COMBINED! Jeez!

My mom has a Christmas cactus, but it usually blooms around Thanksgiving - Speaking of that, I haven't seen it lately. I'm gonna have to ask her about it next time I'm out there.

Yours is very pretty & the blooms are quite colorful!

My Christmas Cactus bloomed wonderfully this year too. We got another 9 inches of snow yesterday. We have a good 15 on the ground.

Beautiful, I never expect to see them bloom this time of the year.

That's a lot of snow. I understand your concern about flooding. Hopefully it will melt slowly.

I have one of those old-fashioned Christmas Cactus too, obtained through a trade. They are wonderful. I'm glad the latest storm missed you. The most snow I've experienced on the ground at once is 24" and that was hard enough to deal with. I'm not surprised you're winter weary!!

Gosh, that's a lot of snow. I sure hope it doesn't flood. They do so much damage.

Luv your cactus.

Yes, your Christmas cactus looks happy. I'm glad you had fun with your grandkids. We are having our guy Sunday instead of Saturday the next couple of weeks.

We are expecting highs above freezing for the next several days. I hope the snow all melts away, and that we don't get too much water in our basement.
