Life has been getting in the way of my blogging lately. It has been warmer and our snow is now a dirty muddy mess, I can actually see part of our back yard, the dogs come in with muddy paws several times a day, we were actually able to take them for a walk this past weekend, the ice is finally gone from out streets. It is cloudy, dreary and gray with drizzle and rain predicated for the next week, we have flood warnings, the Cedar River is expected to crest on Sunday, after 2008 the word "flood" makes me really nervous.
The photo above is a cleome that I played around with in PSP. I love doing that, must be the frustrated artist in me, since I can't draw.

Mama's favorite flower was cleome. I haven't seen any in a few years. Your photo is so very pretty. Thanks for your visit/comment. I would enjoy a piece of choc. cake and coffee right about now!!!!!
Mildred, nothing better than something chocolate with a good hot cup of coffee!
Cleomes are show offs - but I love them too.
I would like a chewy brownie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, with hot fudge sauce drizzled on top. A cup of hot tea with cream would be nice too.
I took a walk through my backyard today. There's still piles of snow lying around, but a lot of ground is showing. The grass is all smashed down, though, and soaked. The weather forecast is calling for rain over the next several days.
What a vibrant, cheerful photo!
Now, reading all these comments about chocolate and cofee, must go to kitchen...! :)
Gorgeous! I've never heard of this flower. Thanks for sharing!
We thank you for dropping by to say hi and we are glad we found your blog. What beautiful a cleome and what good news to hear the snow is melting...I just wish it would not melt so quickly because of the chance of flooding. We'll be back,
Madi and Mom
This looks so lovely!!! We have cleome every year in the garden. They are beautiful!
Very pretty - I love this image!
Speaking of dirty muddy paws, my sister taught her dogs to stand at the door when coming in from outside & hold each paw up so she could towel them off! It's sooo cuuute!
One of my favorite flowers too!
