Years ago I used to think these were some kind of baby hummingbird.
We have gotten more rain here in Iowa, it is still hot and humid. UGH! It seems we have had very few nice sunny days, you can walk outside and smell the rotting vegetation. Every where you look there is standing water and the mosquitoes are still reigning supreme.

What pretty colors that moth has!
The moth shows up so beautifully on that blue flower. Sorry about your continued rain. It's been cool and beautifully sunny in the San Franicisco area.

Its sure is pretty! We are over 32 degree F and close to 100% humidity here every day. It is already cooler than the 37 of last month.

That's a beautiful moth... We tend to get ugly ones here! :D
I first saw one of these when my butterfly bush flowered. They are so much fun to watch! I have never been able to catch them in such a beautiful pose though - nice one!
