Gourd Blossoms

Posted by Picasa

I saw some gourd seeds this past spring, decided I would plant some, they have taken over the garden crawled over the garden fence and are moving on to the neighbors fence :).    The bees love the blossoms, I am not sure what I will do with all the gourds but I have enjoyed the plants.

The blossoms are lovely. I'm sure you will find a use for the gourds since there are so many different uses for them. birdhouses, vessels, art projects by the score. Have some fun with them.

Always put these in as a kid, they can really takeover. I have tried a few big one also.Wonder if the blossoms taste as good as squash? Saves getting overpowered. You will have to show some of your gourds.
