Ornamental Peppers

Posted by Picasa

I took these photos at Reiman Gardens in Ames, IA a couple of weeks ago.   I love ornamental peppers, the second photo is Black Pearl, I am going to try to find seeds of it for next season.

I love the peppers, and the Black Pearl is really something. Are these in the wintergreen family!

Both of these plants are beautiful, I especially love the colors in the ornamental peppers.

I have made my garden peppers ornamental, mixing them in with the flowers. I like to separate hot and sweet as far from each other that I can.i took a class from the lady that runs Reiman, love the butterflies.

Did you take the Master Gardening class, Out of Prairie? I understand part of the classes are now at Reiman Gardens. I took the classes years ago. I love the butterflies also, we try to get there several times a year. I loved the bottle tree display they have had this summer.

Was wondering, can you save some of the peppers and use their seeds?

The peppers in the 1st pic look like the old time Christmas lights when I was a kid! How cool is that!!!

At first, i thought they're tulips. :) Wow, very nice shots. I haven't tried those oriental peppers. Oh I like that black plant.

That's neat. I have an ornamental pepper plant that I grow as a houseplant. It flowers, grows peppers, and everything.

I have been so busy enjoying summer and fall I have not had time to stop by my favourite photo blogs! Glad I popped in today to see those peppers. I have never seen such colourful varieties.
