String of Pearls or Rosary Plant

Posted by Picasa

This is one of my houseplants,  most people know it by the name string of pearls , (Senecio rowleyanus),  it is one of my favorite plants.  It is a plant that has been in houseplant collections for years, I remember my aunts having this plant but they called it the rosary plant.

I just recently acquired one, a small start. Do you water it in the winter? I have been just barely watering it, letting it dry out between waters. It looks okay so far.

Beautiful macro. I've always heard it called string of pearls but rosary plant makes sense too.

I only water this plant every other week or so. It is in a very small pot that dries out quickly.

I've seen this plant, but never attempted to grow it...don't know why.

Cool picture!

I've never seen this plant! Will have to do some research and see if it is something I could grow inside. I have to be careful, because the cats love to chew on green, growing things.
