Changes

Posted by Picasa

The above 3 photos are all mine that I applied some changes to using the Monet App.   I enjoy using Photoshop Elements and Paint Shop Pro but this little app is fun and quick and very little work :).

And while we are on the subject of changes, I have went through several life changing events in the past weeks.  On 11/19 I found out the company I have worked for the past 23 years had been swallowed up by a shark company (Form A Feed) out of Stewart, MN and would be moving all production and office work to their MN plant, therefore closing us completely down, they wanted our customer list and inventory is about it.   It was not a total surprise as I knew the company had been losing money for the past several years due to a variety of reasons, none of which were addressed.   It took Form A Feed  until Jan 28 to move all the work to their location so my last day was last Friday.  I am 62, so am at a bad age for finding new employment and purchasing health insurance.  Three days after finding out about my job my Dad passed away at the age of 86, not a total surprise but it had come up rather quickly, he was in hospice care for a couple of weeks.  Two weeks ago we had to have my beloved boxer put down, he was almost 12, he was falling down and at first could get himself up but toward the end, he could not.  He had been treated for boxer cardiomyopathy the past 4 years, he was having trouble breathing the last few weeks.

So this is going to be a time for me to re-invent my life :).

What a lot to happen is such a short time.... Take care thinking of you and the changes you are going thru.

You certainly have gotten hit with a lot, in a short period of time. I wish you luck, strength and the hope as you move forward into a new and different tomorrow.

WOW! What a myriad of event to have fall upon you. While none of them are easy, I am very much impressed by the grace with which you are handling this time. I do not know you, but I can tell those that do know you are lucky to have such a strong person in their lives. Here's to all the positives that live will bring in the future for you!

Such losses to endure these past few months. You seem to have the wisdom to accept what one can't change and face life head on with a positive outlook. Life is good...a new normal can be made.

Many times things turn out for the best. Insurance is the hard part. Hubby is going with Cobra. I'm 'healthy as a horse'. I researched some companies on line. Now I have to choose which one to go with. Stay your gracious strong self. Something will work out for you. If not, kick up your heels, and do the happy retirement dance.

Thanks for visiting my blog! You certainly have had some trying times recently. I'm 61 and was worried a couple of years ago when my company (been there 22 years) was purchased. Fortunately I was on that golden "keep list," but I was almost mentally ready to say goodbye and let it all go. When that didn't happen...hmmmm...I kind of had to re-think again! I guess we all end up playing the hand we're dealt....

Good luck with your reinvention. Be sure to take care of you during these stressful times. The loss of a parent and a beloved pet are both very devastating events. I lost both my cavaliers within three months of each other three years ago and though it's been many years since I've lost a parent I remember what that feels like also. Thought and prayers are with you.

P.S. On a lighter side, I wish I had an I-pad. Love that Monet app!

Oh good heavens, that is so much change in such a short space of time. Even the job loss is a type of bereavement. I hope that as you work through the grief and loss you find you move on in to a new and wonderful phase in your life.

Good gracious, it just keeps coming doesn't it? You are in what I call a boils and sores period. The only good thing is that these periods do end.
I am so sorry for all the pain you have had to endure.
You do have a good attitude however and think you will reinvent better than most.
I chose 62 to retire and have never regretted it.

I'm so sorry to hear about all the abrupt changes.

All are so sad. Lossing a parent, a job and a very beloved fur baby - all heartbreaking.

I'm sending uplifting thoughts your way. And wishing things get back on track for you quickly.

12 is old for boxers, my oldest made it to 14. I raised them and showed them for over 20 years.Anymore 62 is still workable, but it gets tougher when I have went to any interviews. Iowa Cares insurance goes with income. My daughter has it now after a layoff.
