Trip to the Greenhouse

Posted by Picasa

I spent some time at my local greenhouse, one of my favorite places in the winter.   Snapped these photos while I was there.

Gorgeous hydrangeas! I have one big 46 yr old bush of the mop head variety, and planted two little ones of different varieties last year, only one of which bloomed. We'll see what 2011 brings.

We have the old fashioned ones. Granny used to bury scrap iron under them to change their color.

Just beautiful. I really need to plant hydrangeas.
Really makes you want to get your hands dirty huh? I am tentatively putting a few things out. May be too early but I can't wait.

So that is your butterfly as #15 on B&B? I haven't got one up yet. There is a new hydrangea Strawbeeries and Cream I am sure to try.

They have hydrangeas this time of year? Is it still snowing there? It is on your blog I see.

Mój mały domek w ogrodku jest obrośniety hortensjami. Uwielbiam ten bukiet kwiatów na jednej łodyżce. Pozdrawiam

Jan, the Hydrangeas are in a greenhouse and they are not the kind that gets planted outside, they go out as floral arrangements.

OOTP, I have not seen any of my photos on birds and blooms.

Thanks for stopping by one and all.

Pretty! I heard hydrangeas change color based on the acidity/alkalinity of the soil. Cool!
