Camera Critter Saturday

Posted by Picasa

Baltimore Orioles may be my favorite bird after Cardinals, they are busying pigging out on grape jelly.  House Finches and Robins will eat it also.  I have a friend that says a Red Bellied Woodpecker is feeding at her grape jelly.

I do love the Baltimore orioles as well. There is one who comes to my yards, but so far I couldn't caught him on camera. Your pictures are gorgeous.

Wow, what beautiful photos of a lovely, lovely little bird! It's another new bird for me and one that is nothing at all like I've seen before. The variety of feathered friends just never ceases to amaze me.

I went to the store to get more jelly and they were out of the huge jars of their brand, a lot of oriole lovers I would say.

OOTP, I had the same thing happen to me, they were out of the large jars of the store brand grape jelly! I bought some off brand, the orioles can't seem to tell the difference :).

Grape jelly! Whodathunkit! If I had some, I'd put it outside now for the robins and see who else turns up to enjoy it.

Oriole, Maryland's state bird. I live next to Maryland, lol. Beautiful pictures. I never knew birds would eat grape jelly. I just purchased a minature bird bath. It would be perfect in the garden with grape jelly.

I've tried to attract orioles twice with zero luck. I'm within their migratory range and saw one once in some woods a few miles from my house. I think my timing is off. I do have a lot of other songbirds, though. Beautiful photos and blog!! :o)

What a beautiful bird. I've seen only one (1) Baltimore Oriole locally in the 50+ years I've lived in this community. Maybe they're here and shunning me. :)
