Very cool colors of spring in your garden already. I have quite the wait yet as the grass is just greening. My columbine is only a few inches high.

Jan, the Columbine is not a wild one but a hybrid. I think the white flower is Star of Bethlehem but I am not positive.

As for an answer to your question:
A BARNYARD GARDEN is simply planted with plants that have a name that you might find on or around a farm. For example, HEN and CHICKS Sedum, BEEbalm, PONYtail Grass, COWslips, GOOSEneck Loosestrife, CATnip,etc. It's especially fun for the kids in your life. It could also be called a KINDER-garden, I suppose.

I am not sure how to get you to the photo contest on Facebook. It is conducted by Sue Neitzel, (her blog is Country Pleasures) I think if you friend me on Facebook, then you can go to my 'events' and join the photo club. I should be easy to find on FB I think I am the one and only Mary Ann Wierschke listed. Lets give it a try.
I love the idea of a Barnyard Garden, I must be a big kid..........lol......or mabye I am entering my second childhood at the age of 62. :)
