Wonderful pictures! Flowers look beautiful, bathed in sunshine. How hot is there in Iowa? Here in India it was untolerably hot, till recently, when the rains made things better.
Curtis, I wonder if the weedeater trick would work with dianthus? :)
Lost Roses the trumpet one is Datura, the bloom is so heavy it falls down and breaks off, I don't think I will save the seeds to this one, but it smells nice.
Green Thumb, it has been very hot and humid here in Iowa, in the 90s, it is already 75 degrees this AM. It is dry also, rain is in the forecast for tomorrow. I hope the weatherman is correct this time.
Purple petunias are my favorite also, they were the very first six pack of plants I purchased many many years ago, I like to think they are responsible for my gardening passion, so each year I buy them and put them in a long flower box in the same spot.
Thanks for the kind words Mark and all, and for stopping by my blog!
Wonderful blooms! And I'm still lovin' the blooms on the sedum! I've not seen that before, so it's most interesting to me! Happy GTS and Happy Gardening!! :)
You have so many beautiful flowers. Perhaps here in cold (winter), hot windy (summer) and disaterous (my lazyness) area I can eventually get more flowers like you.
But, on my behalf, I have to say that I've only been here two summers (this is the second), so maybe I can get more next year and the next and the next.
Very lovely photos esp. of the queen anne's lace - I know, I know they're a common weed and coming up everywhere but still beautiful and the sedum continues to surprise me. I should have bought some while they had them at Lowes.

Beautiful blooms! I have purple petunias much like yours in full bloom right now!
:)
Petunias are one of my favorites as well. They are great about blooming some more when cut back.
Heck I have had a bed of petunias and cut them back with a weed eater. It works. :)
You have some real beauties there! I presume the long trumpet one is a datura? We don't see those much here.
What a lovely collection of flowers, particually like the long trumpet one.

Connie, time does make a difference, I have lived in this house over 30 years. So I have had a long time to plant.
Thanks for stopping by.
