The Heat is Still ON

OK, I am really tired of this heat, have I said that before?? Yes I have. The seed pods of butterfly weeds are so interesting, don't you think? My hardy hibiscus are still going strong, if they would only stand up taller, my black sedum is starting to flower.

Me too I am very tired of the heat.. Although the ninety degree weather sure feels better than the triple digits.

The pods seem like rockets. Very interesting perspective. Everything in the photos seem to point upward. Including the grasshopper.

It has been nice in the NE recently. Temps in the low to mid 80's but we need some rain. I'm back to hand watering as many of the plants are wilting.

The butterfly weed went to seed at a local park - I had never seen it go to seed before so I guessed. I had recently read that butterfly weed and milkweed were related and so they are...

I collected some seed for my garden this year.

Why don't you send us some of your hot days?? We've had the first snow in the mountains yesterday.... and it is rather cold now! Summer was too short!

Oooh, I like the grasshopper on the sedum. What variety of sedum is that? I'm thinking of mixing my 'Autumn Joy' with some other varieties, and I need ideas. I have 'Vera Jameson' too, which is shorter and kind of floppy.

And I vote for some cooler weather too. And rain.
