Whiter Shade of Pale

Well, our freeze warning for Friday night turned out to be not really a freeze. The temps got down to 31 for an hour or so. It didn't kill a thing not even the mosquitoes, it may have slowed them down a bit. As I worked outside today for quite awhile and was only bitten a few times. I dug some peonies that I wanted to move and divided more iris. Dumped more pots of annuals. I bought 3 big pots of mums for my fall display, my hubby is going to get the bale of hay tomorrow. I also bought a big pot of asters.

Yesterday morning we were walking the dogs early, it was very foggy and as the sun was coming up it was shinning through the fog, it was very halloweeny (is that a word?) anyway it was very cool.

I love your photos so lovely
I was out early as well, and the dew was so heavy on the leaves of the trees it almost sounded like an old creaky floor…but no Frost yet…

Asters are awesome and they seems more resilient than Mums
Sounds like decorating time …

I was hoping the "freeze" would kill the group of wasps that just recently decided to make my gutter their home. The way my house slides down to the backyard, it's sort of like they are on the third story, so I really don't want to try and get them... Darn frost wasn't strong enough! So I feel you about the mosquitoes!

Glad to hear you avoided frost, at least for a little while?
Your white flowers are lovely. Someday I hope to have a 'White Garden', with all white bloomers.

Very nice shades of white. Interesting to see the subtle color differences. Like picking out the correct shade of white paint for the interior of our home. We must have gone through 10 cans of white before we found the right one.

Beautiful photos. We avoided the first frost this weekend too. I bought pansies for one of my containers - and now it's in the 80's again - crazy weather!!

Wow... I really love the chalky white of that zinnia. And I was a little miffed that we didn't get the frost that was promised here this weekend, either. It might have put an end to whatever is spreading this terrible pollen around right now!

You must be enjoying the weather compared to the heat that you were complaining about a week or so ago, no? :)

Your white flowers are so pretty. I think they are very difficult to photograph. Your photos look splendid!
I am also waiting for frost but it will be a month or more before we get our first frost of the season.
I have lots to do in the gardens.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog and leaving a comment, I love meeting new people:-) Your flowers are just gorgeous, I've been looking at all the pictures from your previous posts as well! We had frost here on Sunday morning and my Impatiens and Coleus really got ruined. Now it figures that we're having warmer temps again! lol I bought a big pot of mums the other day so hopefully they will last a while:-) xox
