Linden Trees

This is one of my favorite trees, Linden or Basswood. It blooms every year during the first hot and humid spell we have in July, usually around the 4th. The blooms smell wonderful which of course is one reason I love the tree.

Is *that* what that is?!? There's one here in town and I've always wondered what it was! Thanks Jenny!! It truly is a beautiful tree.

i love the smell of the linden too. My parents have large one in their front yard. I believe you can make a tea from the blossoms.

I've heard of these trees before, but don't think I've ever seen one around here (but there may be some around!). They are very pretty, but my favorite blooming tree of all time (and I wish we had one) is the Catalpa ... even with their messy habits, they are spectacular.

Thanks for stopping by, I learn something new everyday, I did know you could make tea from the blooms.

IVG, I love the catalpa tree as well, when I was growing up they lined the street where I lived.
