Shades of Cosmos

Most of the snow is now gone, thankfully, I am so eager for spring to get here, is it ever gonna happen?
Cosmos are among my favorite annuals, along with Cleome, they have to rank right up there at the top. I know for years gardening snobs would not even plant annuals, I have always planted them, nothing snobbish about me :). Ones that self sow are especially welcome, which comos and cleome both do.

Hi IGW,
I love Cosmos! I only plant the "Bright Lights" variety though because I prefer the fiery colors and never have any luck with the red. I used to be an annual snob, I guess, but then I learned how great they are to fill in when the perennials are done so we are annual lovers now. You should try California Poppy if you have never grown it... it's a great plant and self sows generously!

Thanks BoPeep and IVG! I do grow all the flowers, but with the camera I can make sure that you don't see the weeds.........lol.

I know what you mean. I have a *thing* for zinnias. They're so colorful and varied. And when they self-sow, that's a plus!
