Posted by Picasa

My blood root is in full bloom right now.  It is one of my favorite plants.

I've never had one of these, but they certainly have beautiful flowers!

That is a beautiful flower. I have never seen one before either, are they rare?

And I am another one who is ignorant of this pretty little plant. Is it a type of ground cover?

Pretty. Never heard of it before either.

I hadn't heard of blood root either. I was wondering why a white flower with a yellow middle had a name with the word blood in it. I looked it up on the internet. I guess that if you snap the root, a red sap comes out.

No flowers yet in Colorado. When I see one I'll take a picture!
