I love the color of your aster. That's one plant I don't have but would add to my poor fall look. I remember my Grandma growing those Cockscombs. I always loved them and they do dry true to color and shape. I hope you didn't get any measurable snow. It TOOOO early for that to start.
My asters bloomed early, but they are certainly a welcome spot of color in the fall when everything else is winding down. My mother used to grow cockscomb; such an interesting flower, I haven't seen them in a long while.

Beautiful color. Aster is such a simple flower--that's why I've always liked them even though I don't have any in my garden.
